Learning Is a Journey

My story is similar to yours!

I've experienced pain, loss, insecurities, social scrutiny, judgment, untrust, and the list can go on. Even though I've been driven by optimism, there is a truth to all upbringings. We all search for that something. Early in my school years, I learned a fact that has stayed with me all my life: divinity resides in all of us. There it was - a simple statement, a blunt truth.

Coming from a small town in the middle of the Romanian mountains, I figured I was close to divinity, to God. I filled my whole being with roaming through the forest; I envisioned songs that didn't exist and experienced extreme joy for which I didn't find a name. Years later, I fell into the trap of the mundane world and its societal norms of "fitting in" and "being normal." I left my dreamy world behind, my joy...

In my curious way, I read philosophical, religious, spiritual, and psychological works, asking, like a forever scholar, what I am. My search happened in bumps; it went on forcefully, then stopped abruptly, and then started once again. I found this search pattern curious.

Meanwhile, my life evolved steadily on a different continent. I allowed myself to follow my inner power to express mentorship and care through my work in Chicago. I witnessed lions turning into lambs over and over. The power of calmness is terrific! In my strategic approaches, I am persuasive, detect the little blocks in workflow, and present a perspective of change.

One day, I stumbled upon a book that answered unuttered questions, freeing me of many burdens. This book is entitled "Power VS. Force" by Dr. Havid Hawkins. This man was modest and funny, trying to fit the enormity of his revelations into small words of our language. The Map of Consciousness explains human naivete and the victimhood of societal norms, in which many get tangled. It didn't excuse people's behavior and actions, but it explained how different levels of consciousness provide a different understanding of the world. This comprehension changed me and the way I moved in work and life.

It reminded me of my early understanding of the divinity in each of us, and it all came into clear view. Simply put, we are all doing our best from the place we are at. If we feel sad, we would see a tragic world; if we feel happy, the world is happy. You see, we are whole and complete at any moment, and our version of us in every moment reflects our evolution.

I've somehow always landed in leading positions. I learned that leading people is trickier than managing things and tasks. This, I came to realize, is because of our limited understanding of each other and ourselves. In leadership, we often forget our joy, precisely because we forget who we are at the core. We do not see our wholeness, our vast, expansive being; we operate from a rational mind.

Holistic Leadership, therefore, comes from the mind of a seeker. At every moment, we operate from what we have become. Our behavior, our advice, and our words are us as expressed in this earthly experience. To do better, we do not have to learn more "how-tos," but rather, to become more. We have to shift from our thinking mind to our heart. We must embody the empath, advisor, listener, and curious from a place of love and dedication. As such, Holistic Leadership is the intersection of spirituality and business, where strategic leading methods meet spiritual growth practices. This cocktail is fabulous!

And it is okay to be in a continuous search. We are not fueled forever and forever; we rise and fall into our thinking and our emotions, the same way our heart beats rhythmically and in flow. As far as my envisioned songs that didn't exist and extreme joy for which I didn't find a name... I found them in my heart!

Stick around, and adopt the no-worries strategy!
